We take no responsibility for the dogs listed here and have not screened all the animals listed on the site. It is the adopter's responsibility to fully investigate the dog in question. Please note we will list an owner surrender that is not being taken in to foster care by us, we ask for a small donation to help offset our costs and time. I would like to add a personal THANK YOU, to the Alberta Rescues listed here, the stray situation here is staggering, and these rescues go above and beyond duty. Real heroes. I thank all rescues, anywhere of course.

Hi there my name is Louie and I have
been with SCARS for some time now. It is unclear why I am still around as I am
the most joyful companion to have around. I am a two-year-old Husky cross that
loves to play with other dogs. Some of my many attributes are that I am house
trained, great with children, however maybe the older ones would be better as I
get quite excited when they are around and I am great on and off leash. I should
go to a home without cats as those pesky felines seem to give me a bit of a
stir.
I would like an active home as I am still a young guy and require a lot of exercise. I am missing most of my tail, but that just makes me unique. If you are looking for the experienced type that still has a lot of fun in him, let SCARS know.

UPDATE: 1 Husky cross plus,1
lake lot, plus unlimited running, playing, sleeping and oh ya...EATING, ='s a
Huskyliciousweekenderevent.( Is that one word?????) What a great time I had even
though it rained all the time. My Mom is just as crazy about the Lake as all of
us Huskies are, never letting the weather stop us from having a great time. We
got WET, MUDDY, WEEDY,SNEEZY,TWIGGY and about anything else the lake could
offer. Then there's the MENU.
In this house...if you play and work hard, you eat hard. Friday night
started out with an excellent run from the vantage point of a trike. Mom opened
it up and we ran as fast as we could way up ahead of her. It felt good to go
that fast with out having to worry about the city stuff. Guess what? I didn't
take off either, I listened very well... came when I was called EVERY time. By
the time we got back to the lake lot, Dad had this fire going and we each had
real to goodness HAMBURGERS : ) . with CHEESE. What a way to end an evening's
schedule. The skies stopped raining enough so we had a nice fire to relax bye.
My friends and I dried off real nice then before long it time to go into the
dog run and I slept there the rest of the night. I never made a peep until the
morning. Once the A.M. chores were done, it was time to explore all along the
shore line. 5 hours and probably 15 miles later we arrived back at the Lake lot
and we were tired. Then we had fish, potatoes and carrots all baked in the B.B.Q.
for supper. Yum Yum Yum. I over heard mom telling dad what a good boy I was....I
never caused any problems or worries. I showed Mom that I'm even a better boy
than what she even thought I was before. Come the morning time, everyone was
busy getting breakfast on the stove and some coffee and hot chocolate for the
peoples. I died and went to heaven when I was given a plate of get this....an
English muffin on the bottom, then some cheese, then an egg, then some bacon and
to top it off, some yellow ( awesome tasting) stuff plopped on top. ( I've added
a picture of my breakfast) Mom said it would help my electrolytes recover from
the week-end. Wow, I didn't know I suffering, I sure ain't now though!!!!! The
week-end came and went so fast, It was an amazing time. I was excellent with
people and other pets that came bye to say hi. I was polite and courteous, I
took my food with out adding fingers to the menu and I was gracious when my
plate was taken away. That's what I call being a well behaved little man. I
can't possibly do a better job than that. I'm as ready for MY forever home as I
could possibly be. I don't know where you are...but you can find me right here.
I'm waiting for ya.
I'm about five years old, neutered, and vaccinated. I don't know about cats yet as my foster home doesn't have any!
My foster mom has this thing she calls a 3-wheeled cart and I'm able to run while attached to the front of it. Too cool! The best thing about it I get the freedom to run and my mom doesn’t have to worry about me taking off. Sometimes the Husky side of me could be capable of wandering AWAY while off leash. Mom feels that with some additional training, I would be great running beside a bike, and perhaps I could be a sledding or Skijoring companion during winter months! All this wonderful potential is getting me all excited for the first snow fall next winter.
A well fenced yard or a kennel is a must to keep me from running away. A daily walk/ run is really important too as a tired Husky is a happy Husky or so my mom says. So those are the goods on me. I'm looking for a new forever home and I'm ready to meet you. Let’s get together soon so we can enjoy the upcoming summer! I'd love to be your best friend for many, many years to come.
Lots of Husky friendss!
