Tiku

is a wonderful 6.5 year old husky, both eyes blue. She is a level 2 trained obedience dog, who is extremely loving and caring with all people. She absolutely loves the outdoors, and isn't shy about letting you know when
she's having fun! In the house, she loves to chew on her toys, and only her toys; and sleep the day away. If it wasn't for her getting up to get a drink every once in a while, or the sound of her playing with her toys - you would forget she's there. She understands the boundaries in the house, and likes to follow the rules, quietly I might add. Her favorite things to play with are tennis balls & tire chews. She has lived with cats her whole
life, and is good friends with one, so they're part of the pack in her eyes.

Frankie is a friendly loving 6 year old Siberian husky who loves people. He needs lots of attention and walks. The more excersize he has the, better behaved he is. He has been off leash for walks but doesnt always get along with every dog that comes around, so its best to have him on a leash in populated areas. He is fine in his kennel or out in a yard when you are gone from the home. He likes to get into food or garbage if it is left out when you are gone. He likes to play tug-of-war with his rope but he has never been a chewer on house hold items. He is neutered and shots are up to date. He is house trained. He likes to sleep in the bedroom with you at the foot of your bed on the floor.

Luna and Posh
Rehome Needed - TOGETHER !!

Posh and Luna have lived together since birth. Their Dad was dianosed
with cancer last year and recently he was admitted to the hospital.

We have brought Posh and Luna back home to Nanook and would LOVE
to be able to place them together in a new home as soon as possible.

They are a little overweight at the moment but are sweet 'little girls' who
have lived indoor/outdoor lives.

If you know of anyone who might offer the girls a great new home you
can private email me for more infomation: annettedionne@yahoo.ca

APOLLO

URGENT - This handsome boy is in desperate need of a 'forever' home
or someone willing to foster him until one can be found. If any one out
there can help please contact the bcsiberianhuskyclub@shaw.ca

Apollo is a Male Siberian Husky Born on April 02, 2009.

He is energetic, and loving, and actually pretty darn loyal for such a
young dog. He understands quite a few basic commands, and learns very quickly. He is fully house trained and, doesn't even like to go in his own yard. He is chipped, tattooed, neutered, and all his shots are up to date.

Apollo is a very clean dog, and takes exceptional care of his coat and
feet. He is also a pretty quiet dog, and rarely barks. Apollo loves meeting
other dogs and people, and is always pretty friendly. He loves to cuddle
up in bed, but has no problem curling up on the floor either, and will sleep through the night without issue. A wonderful companion for the right person.

A Little Bit About Me
A behaviour counselling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting this animal. Gorgeous gets slightly anxious when left alone. She will need to get used to spending time alone slowly a few minutes at a time. This dog is slightly fearful of things raised overhead. She needs to be introduced to people and new situations slowly. She needs a consistent environment with positive reinforcement and gentle handling. This dog is extremely playful. She may get bored if left inactive.

***LUCY***

Lucy is a 1.5yr old sable colored Siberian. A sweet girl who loves her morning cuddles with her people. This girl is an owner surrender, a sibe who has found herself in a situation which many young sibes find themselves in; they have not found someone who is breed savvy and ready to take on a young and headstrong girl. People are often drawn to the beauty and look of a husky and forget these dogs require patience and leadership. Lucy will need a home where she is shown guidance and given the training she needs. Lucy will do best in a dedicated, active, Siberian experienced home where she has adequate exercise and mental stimulation. Lucy does suffer from separation anxiety which with work and time can be overcome.

Lucy gets along with other dogs and is very playful girl, she does need work on greeting smaller dogs and will not be placed in a home with cats or small animals due to her high prey drive. Lucy knows basic commands and she will need further training to become an example for her breed. Lucy pulls on leash and is a strong girl, so needs someone able to work with her. Lucy would love a home where she has a canine companion to keep her company and to play!

Lucy is spayed and UTD on shots, she is approximately 60lbs.

***APOLLO***

Meet Apollo, a gorgeous 2 year old red husky boy. Apollo is an owner surrender from Vancouver who is looking for a family who can give him lots of love, security and exercise. Apollo is a typical Siberian, always looking for things to keep him occupied and engaged, be that toys (he loves toys!) or other dogs to romp with. Apollo loves playing with other dogs, he is a superstar at his foster mum's boarding facility, friend to all dogs big and small! Apollo will need an active and experienced (preferably husky experienced!) home, with only older children over the age of 15yrs.

Apollo is neutered, tatooed, U.T.D. on shots and house trained, he is ready and waiting to get back to life as someone's companion! He needs to gain a few pounds but will still be a lithe and slim looking boy with a short double coat.

Foster Update: What a great dog! I don’t think I have met a 2 year old husky that is this easy going, loves to play with the other dogs but also likes to chill on the sofa and catch up on his beauty sleep. He is getting along with all the dogs, big and small alike, sleeping like an angel. He is not very vocal, only when he feels like letting you know that he doesn’t want you to be in another area of the yard (when he thinks he might be bored), yet other times he is so content and quiet, I can go about and water plants in different areas of the property and putter. He is affectionate and if I could he would definitely be on the top of my list of adopters! Love this guy!

Dakota

Siberian Husky: An adoptable dog in Duncan, BC
Medium • Adult • Male

Dakota is a striking Blue-eyed, Black and White husky with a gregarious loving temperament. that loves everyone! He ended up as a stray in LA, roaming with his friend Ruby (Red female also available through Island Dogz). He was pulled for us on the last day before being euthanized and brought up to start a new life in Canada. He walks nicelly on a leash and loves car rides and cuddles!! While Dakota is great with med to big dogs, he has a high prey drive that includes cats and tiny dogs as "toys". Dakota was obviously an outdoor only dog, but now quickly learning what rules come along with the luxury of being a well loved member of a family. He does need to lose a few pounds as well, but regular exercise will have him in tip top shape in no time!

Higgins

Siberian Husky/Alaskan Malamute Mix: An adoptable dog in Duncan, BC
Large • Adult • Male

Higgins: Looking for a big laid back lazy boy with striking looks.. Higgins is your man!. He is a piebald husky malamute cross with the bigger size (he's a healthy 80lbs) and bright blue husky eyes! He was in the pound in Alberta, and has come to the Island to find a laid back west coast furever home. Higgins enjoys the good things in life, like sleeping on the bed rather then the floor, car rides and naptime! He knows what the leash means but doesn't get excited he just watchs you with it. He LOVES getting brushed and getting his teeth brushed :) He's only vocal when around big dogs and only when he's playing (which is only when he feels like it), He does bark for treats if you take too long too give them to him but other wise he's not very barky. With people he's very gentle and well mannered, He's a light leash puller but not difficult to walk. He knows his basic commands such as sit, stay, lay down, ...

Jazz

Siberian Husky/German Shepherd Dog Mix: An adoptable dog in Duncan, BC
Medium • Adult • Female

Jazz (aka Jasper) is a gorgeous female huskyX german shepherd. She has had the bad luck of being in three homes already in her short 2 1/2 yrs of life. The first got a cute puppy and wasnt prepared for what an older husky puppy needs, the second had her for only a few days before realizing they weren't up for the challenge and then she found HOME for the last happy two years. But a new baby arrived and Jazz has found herself needing a FUREVER home. She is a very sweet dog for the right person who is ready to work with her. She has been in a foster home for about a week and they are really working on her behaviours:She is very bright and wants to please, so she is definteily improving. Jazz is excitable and reactive to dogs as she was attacked at a dog park and ever since has some leash aggression. She also has high prey drive, so small pets, cats and small dogs are not suitable for her home. She is selective to the dogs she...

She adores her people and follows them from from room to room, naps at your feet and sleeps on her bed in the bedroom (would be on the bed in a second if allowed ;). Jazz likes her toys, playing fetch and just tossing balls for herself! She loves outdoor activites, hiking, running alongside a bike, swimming...but will need to always be on leash. She is house broken and behaves quietly at home when alone...but immediately ready to greet you with enthusiastic kisses when you arrive home. For an active owner looking for an adoring, high energy, companion...Jazz will make an amazing pet.

Jonah

Siberian Husky Mix: An adoptable dog in Duncan, BC
Medium • Young • Male

Jonahs has had a tough year! On Jan 3, 2011 he was found by Terrace RCMP after being hit by a train! . Jonah was rushed by the officer to the local vet clinic in order to undergo immediate surgery. He had one eye that had popped out of its socket, one leg that was terribly damaged, a smashed mouth and a mangeld tail. Jonah had his eye reinserted in the socket, had his upper front teeth removed and had a plate installed in order to hold his shattered femur together. Three days later he was good enough to go into foster care. Unfortunately that same day he slipped on the ice and it quickly became apparent that he had done some damage so it was back to the vet. Jonah had a larger plate set in place with longer screws to hold it secure; he had completely snapped one of the screws so it is stuck in his bone forever. He recovered quickly and returned to foster.......After some time it was clear that nothing slowed Jonah down and he was...

He recovered quickly and returned to foster.......After some time it was clear that nothing slowed Jonah down and he was moved into a quieter foster home. After a few months Jonah returned to the vet again and had his plate removed and was sent home to yet again recover. Fast forward through months of recovery which the biggest challenge was keeping this guy quiet when he wanted to play! Now Jonah is none the worse for wear and is an enegetic, happy dog. He does need some training to walk nicely on leash. As typical with huskies, Jonah also needs an escape proof yard as he likes to go exploring...he will dig his way out looking for fun if left alone in the yard (Which we don't recommend with any of our huskies..they want to be with their people and will get destructive or go searching for fun and company if left out alone) He has been fostered with toddlers and dog-savy cats and is good with other dogs. He is neutered and uptodate with shots
